St Austell Brewery has won a pub industry ‘Oscar’.

The business, which has its headquarters in St Austell, has picked up the ‘best accommodation operator’ accolade at the Publican Awards.

Chief executive Kevin Georgel said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won a Publican Award for our accommodation offer.

“We are continuing to make significant investments into our pubs and our accommodation offer as it’s an extremely important part of our business.”

One of St Austell Brewery’s 44 pubs, the Pier House in Charlestown, with 23 new-look bedrooms, is undergoing a full refurbishment and will be reopening in the summer.
