Newquay schoolchildren are sporting a new football kit thanks to the generosity of a local business.
Newquay Junior Academy has unveiled its newly sponsored academy football kit, which has been donated by Stratton Carpentry.
The business donated the funds to ensure pupils had two new sets of kit so they can get to all their fixtures and tournaments looking the part.
Newquay Junior Academy takes part in numerous football competitions throughout the academic year, and are the Newquay Sports Network champions and holders of the Rosewarne Shield.
The girls team played in the ESFA tournament, putting in a sound performance, and the Year 5 and 6 team played some energetic football in the North Cornwall qualifying round and went on to compete with other primary schools across Cornwall.
A school spokesman said: “A few months ago, we optimistically asked if any of our community would like to sponsor our academy football kit to replace our ‘mix and match’ kit that has certainly been put through its paces over the past few years and needed a refresh.
“We were overwhelmed with the responses we received and the generosity of the companies who came forward, so much so, we had to pull the company names out of a hat.
“Stratton Carpentry were crowned our new sponsors. We are all absolutely delighted with the new academy kit.”
