Run Mawnan returns on Sunday, September 22 where the community can either take on a 10K, 5K and 1 mile kids run which raising funds for local charities and community groups.

Set in the coastal village of Mawnan Smith, Run Mawnan follows a road route which takes in the village landmarks as well as some of the river views of North Helford.

All courses start and finish in Carwinion Playing Field, following the road down into the village to the Red Lion Pub. The route then takes you along the country roads to Trebah Gardens.

At the turning to Helford Passage all runners will then head back to the village, with the 5k runners returning to the playing field.

The 10k runners will continue north through the village, turning left through Boskensoe, where a complimentary drink station for competitors is provided, then Tregarne to Penwarne and returning down Penwarne Road to Carwinion Road and the finish is back in the playing field.

The children’s fun run will take the children past the primary school, through wooded Carwinion Lane back to the playing field. All children under seven must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The 5k and 10k runs begin at 10am, while the children’s fun run starts at 10.05am. Refreshments, including a licensed bar, a barbecue and a cake stall, will be provided afterwards along with entertainment, a raffle, and other stalls.

Every year, the event raises several thousand pounds for charities, community groups and initiatives in Mawnan and the wider Falmouth area. Entries close on Sunday, September 15.
