Hundreds of people gathered in Newquay town centre to celebrate the arrival of 2024.

Many congregated in Central Square for the countdown and at every vantage point in the bay to watch a spectacular fireworks display organised by Newquay Town Council.

Some people wore their fanciest fancy dress for the occasion, which included a mobile DJ, Oompa Loompas and as hot dogs.

A spokesperson for Newquay Town Council said: "Thanks to Celebration Pyrotechnics and Man Guard Security Services for another fantastic fireworks display and to all the fabulous people that came out in the cold to welcome in 2024."
