Redruth Pride, which was due to take place on Saturday, has been cancelled following the adverse weather forecast.
Organisers say they have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the event over safety concerns.
The Pride flag was due to be paraded through Fore Street and various entertainment had been organised to celebrate diversity and equality in the town.
Matt Kenworthy Gomez, who helps to organise Pride throughout Cornwall, said: “We know how much Redruth and surrounding areas are excited about Redruth Pride.
“With a heavy heart, we have had to make the decision to cancel and Redruth Pride.
“We want to share that we have waited on our stage providers and event managers decision this morning on whether we are able to safety go ahead because of the risk involved in the wind around temporary structures, staging, and the pride flag.
“Wind limits for the stage is 33mph, wind limits for gazebos are 30mph.
“Both the MetOffice and BBC are showing wind much higher than 33pm from 8am tomorrow.
“We wanted to make sure we are fully informed prior to the decision being made.
“We totally understand how excited everyone is for Redruth, however we need to make sure that people attending, our stall holders, performers, volunteers and all Prider's safety is put first.”
Newquay Pride is due to be held on Saturday July, 22 and Cornwall Pride in Truro on August 26.
