AN RAF veteran has been recognised for the role she plays in raising money for the Royal British Legion each year.
Lynette Smith, a supervisor at the Bodmin Sainsbury’s store, has been presented with a certificate by Bodmin mayor Cllr Phil Cooper.
Lynette also accepted a second certificate of recognition on behalf of the store.
Alongside her role of raising money within the store, Lynette organises the ‘Bodmin Remembers’ wall where members of the community can add a tribute, with children encouraged to draw and submit pictures.
Lynette said: “I felt humbled and honoured to be given the award.
“It’s a cause very close to my heart as I am an armed forces veteran.
“I have helped to organise the Poppy Appeal collections in Sainsbury’s for several years.”
