A pub near Redruth was evacuated after two touring caravans and gas cylinders caught fire in the early hours of this morning.

Two appliances from Tolvaddon attended Vogue St Day at 3am where crews discovered the fire had spread and involved two touring caravans, a shed, fence, rubbish bins and a number of gas cylinders.

A 50 metre cordon was initially put in place due to the gas cylinders involved and the nearby Star Inn Vogue was evacuated. Other residents were asked to remain in their properties.

Crews initially used two hose reels and two breathing apparatus. Further crews attended and two jets set into hydrants were used on the fire and electrics to the caravans were isolated.

The fire was confirmed to be extinguished at around 4.30am.
