Schoolchildren have made a special Christmas song to help people in need in Newquay.

Pupils and staff at Newquay Junior Academy and Newquay Primary Academy performed Sigrid’s Home To You at St Michael’s Church in aid of Newquay Foodbank.

A video of the special performance has been posted on YouTube and viewers are invited to make a donation.

A school spokesman said: “We all had a wonderful time performing and everyone sang beautifully.

“Newquay Foodbank needs support and we would appreciate donations of any size to help feed local people in crisis.

“We would like to thank the church wardens and the church council for their hospitality and the use of St Michael’s Church.

“We would also like to thank Millie Millington of Newquay Tretherras for her musical expertise and producing the audio for the video.

“We would like to thank Alastair Scarlett from Scarlett Photography for the filming and video production.

“Any parents who would like to donate can do so through their child’s ParentPay account.

“Anyone else can make any donations directly to Newquay Foodbank.”
