A popular Newquay choir is inviting people to join their group.
The Newquay Singers is due to start rehearsals towards its annual Christmas concert in St Michael’s Church on September 9.
Rehearsals are held in St Columb Minor Church every Monday evening from 7pm to 9pm.
Anthony Weight from Newquay Singers said: “We are going from strength to strength with increasing membership attracted by a selection of music that ranges from the 14th century to the 20th.
“We are always keen to welcome new members, but would be particularly keen to hear from basses and tenors. There are no auditions so people are encouraged to come along if they feel they might be interested.
“No prior experience is necessary, and we’ll provide all the help that’s needed. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to sing in four-part harmony, this is the moment to find out.
“The choir has a proud history of performing, dating back 125 years and was re-branded from Newquay Choral Society to Newquay Singers in 2023 to reflect the need to broaden the range of music being performed, which now includes classical and popular songs that are more in keeping with modern public tastes.”
