DETECTIVES investigating a report of all alleged armed robbery in Penzance have released images of a man who is wanted in connection to the incident.

Police were called after it was reported that a man had approached a security van outside Sainsburys in Jelbert Way and taken bags of cash from the security guard before fleeing the scene this morning at 10.18am (Thursday, June 20).

The moped is described as a small and black with a black and red box on the back. The man is described as being over 6ft tall and he was wearing black clothing, a balaclava, and a black bike helmet.

Anyone who sees a man or bike matching the above descriptions is asked not to approach and to call police immediately.

A police spokesperson said: “Anyone who was in the area and has dash cam footage or has any information relevant to the incident is asked to please report it to us.

“Please do not speculate on social media but report any relevant information to police.”
