PLANS being put in place to make a dangerous crossroads in Newquay safer have been delayed.

Cornwall Council was due to install several measures at the Trencreek crossroads on June 2 and 3 but have been pushed back to start on July 1 due to a diversion being put in place on the road as part of the ongoing A30 works.

Motorists travelling form the Lane Theatre direction and traffic coming out of Trencreek will only be permitted to turn left once the improvement scheme has been completed.

The council is installing the safety measures following several traffic accidents and concerns raised by residents over a number of years.
