PLANS are underway to revive Newquay carnival.

Newquay Lions and Newquay BID have appealed for local organisations to join forces to bring back the once popular event.

Representatives from local organisations are being invited to attend a meeting to discuss the proposal, which will be held at the Great Western Hotel in Cliff Road on Wednesday, December 4, at 7pm.

A full community meeting will be staged with residents to organise a carnival committee once that has been held.

A spokesperson for Newquay BID said: “We are working with Newquay BID to invite local organisations or members of a local organisations in Newquay to an information meeting about the Newquay Carnival and our plans to try and bring this great event back to the town.

“This is a meeting for local organisations who would like to get involved in some shape or form, or just want to come and find out our plans. We would welcome your input.

“Without members of the community, we cannot make this happen, but Newquay has some great local people and organisations doing great things and the carnival is an opportunity to celebrate this and bring all of us together.”
