Proposals for more than 100 new holiday units and 30 houses across Cornwall are among the latest planning applications submitted to Cornwall Council in the past week.

Proposal for more than 20 houses near Camborne (PA24/00251/PREAPP) — Pre-application advice is being sought for 23 houses, including 12 affordable homes, on a rural exception site on land near Higher Penponds Road, Penponds, near Camborne.

The 1.4-acre site would be served by a new access off Higher Penponds Road. A supporting statement says: “Given the exceptionally high affordable housing need in Camborne parish the proposed development provides for an affordable housing led residential development with enabling open market housing.”

The affordable housing would include seven two-bedroom houses and five three-bedroom dwellings, while the open market properties would be three three-bed and eight four-bed.

Sixty static holiday caravans near St Austell (PA24/00086/PREAPP) — A pre-application has been submitted for advice for a change of use of land to site around 60 static holiday caravan at Manor Park, Penwithick, near St Austell.

The request has been prepared in advance of an application being submitted to redevelop a dormant commercial site to form an extension to an established caravan business at Manor Park. “This expansion would provide additional holiday accommodation to grow the local economy and help to diversify the extant business, which is principally an individual-owned caravan site,” says a planning statement.

Holiday units at Porthtowan (PA24/00220/PREAPP) — A pre-app planning performance agreement has been received by the council for two potential planning applications – for 24 and 32 holiday units at Towan Valley, Porthtowan.

Up to nine new homes at Hayle (PA24/01797) — A proposal seeks “permission in principle” for between four and nine new homes on land south of Strawberry Lane, a site which falls within the main housing growth allocation for Hayle.

Four new homes at Mousehole (PA24/01780) — A “permission in principle” application has also been made for four detached houses on an undeveloped area of land adjacent to Gwelenys Road and to the north of Lynwood Cottages and Lynwood Lodge in Mousehole.
