Plans to develop a caravan park include proposals to build more than 100 park homes and holiday lodges.

A pre-application enquiry has been submitted for a caravan park in Pelynt to be used as a mixed use site with 108 park homes and holiday lets.

Jolly Country Parks has asked Cornwall Council for its views on the plans for a “high quality” development on the site in Casey Lane.

23 residential park homes would be located on the northern part of the site for people aged over 55 and another 85 holiday lodges would be built on the southern part. A reception/amenity building would be provided for guests.

Documents submitted to the council state that a previous planning application to build 130 homes on the site submitted in 2012 had been approved. That was due to the provision of affordable housing and employment space.

The latest plans conclude: “The proposals set out within this enquiry represent a sustainable form of development comprising a development of high quality mixed residential retirement lodges and holiday lodges, consisting of 108 units in total, in two separate parts of the site, along with associated landscaping, infrastructure and area of land for community use.”
