A Newquay sports club is offering people the opportunity to try out bowling.

The West End Bowling Club, on Fore Street, is staging an open day where it is hoping a crowd of locals will go along to try the sport of bowling on Saturday, April 6, between 11am and 4pm.

The club, which has picturesque views across Newquay Bay, saw a big boost to membership numbers in 2023 and is hoping for the same again this year.

The open day is being held as the club re-opens for a new season of fun and games on the green.

A club spokesperson said: “West End is a fabulously friendly club. People can come along and have a go themselves,  helped along by existing members. Bowls and shoes are provided.

“Bowling is great fun and with stunning views across the bay and a very reasonably priced bar in the clubhouse, we are confident people won't regret coming along on the day.

“Fingers crossed for sunshine, but whatever the weather, members will be in the clubhouse to chat with visitors. Nibbles will be provided.”
