PEOPLE are invited to set sail for a musical adventure from Newquay Harbour on Saturday (May 18).
The Boathouse is teaming up with local shanty group The Clams to present a free community event, NQY Shanty Fest '24, from noon to 7pm.
A spokesperson said: “Whether you're a seasoned festival-goer or just looking for a good time, this event has something for everyone.
“Shanty Fest ’24 promises fantastic tunes, delicious bites and a whole lot of fun.
“There will be live performances from talented musicians with eclectic repertoires, street food delights from The Boathouse vendors and family friendly fun. Bring the whole crew as there will be activities for all ages.
“Admission is free for all, no ticket is required, just enthusiasm and a smile.
“Come down, soak up some sunshine and bask in the laid-back vibes of this outdoor venue. “With plenty of space to relax and unwind, it’s the perfect setting for a day of leisure and enjoyment!
Mark Warren, the manager of Newquay BID, said: “It’s great to see local businesses and community groups leading on creating events in our town.
“This creates a great sense of togetherness and ultimately drives footfall into Newquay – locals and visitors alike.”
