Mazey Day and the Quay Fair Day took place in Penzance over the weekend to mark the end of the annual Golowan Festival.
This year’s event, which had been running since June 21, followed the theme of ‘Together, We Shine’, which celebrated all that is brilliant and inspirational, both past and present, in the West Cornwall community.
Mazey Day took place on Saturday, where visitors can enjoy the creativity of Penzance as local aritists, students and community groups paraded down Market Jew Street. Music, dancing, food and craft stalls helped enhance the atmosphere and entertainment for the public while performances also took place at Morrab Garden’s Bandstand.
On Sunday, the bustling Quay Fair Day marked the final event of the festival, where an array of stalls were present on the promenade and around the harbour. Live music took place by the boathouse on the Quay, while the Bandstand at Morrab was once again in full swing.
Golowan buckets were present during the course of the festival with donations going directly to the infrastructure of the festival to help it return for 2025.
Ever since 1991 when the Golowan Festival began, the event still continues to thrive and bring the community together in a joyous celebration.
