PZ STUDIOS are hosting their current Winter Exhibition until November 30 in the Wharfside Art hub, Unit 5, Wharfside Centre in Penzance, opening daily from 11am to 4pm.

45 local artists are displaying an eclectic myriad of portraits, landscapes, prints, drawings, ceramics, stone carvings, photography and large sculptures, creating a captivating variety of different mediums and subjects.

PZ Studios are a group of Penzance based artists who want to promote Penzance as a thriving Artist’s community. The voluntary run organisation was founded in September 2018 by a small group of artists who felt very strongly about promoting Penzance as an art destination.

Wharfside Art Hub is an artist-led exhibition and event space in Penzance kindly donated by the owners of Wharfside Centre and plays an important role in attracting more businesses and visitors to the centre, as well as being a valuable resource for the local arts community.

The future for Wharfside Art Hub looks very exciting as we hope to be moving to the huge, previously known as the New Look premises, partly made possible by the generosity of Tom Marsden, director of the Wharfside Centre for their donation of the space and Penzance Town Council for awarding us some essential grant funding.

Mayor of Penzance, Cllr Stephen Reynolds commented: “Penzance Council are pleased to support PZ Studios with a grant of £998, which will be used to purchase portable MDF display boards and extra lighting for a new pop-up gallery space in Wharfside Shopping Centre.

“The art community is thriving in the parish of Penzance, and this new gallery has the potential to raise the profile of hundreds of artists over the next two years by offering an affordable space to showcase their work, whilst at the same time bringing footfall back into an empty retail unit.”
