AN adventure festival is set to be held for the first time at the Porthpean Outdoor Education Centre, near St Austell.

The Porthpean Adventure Festival is due to take place on Saturday, September 28, from 10am to 4pm and will be raising money for the nearby Little Harbour hospice run by Children’s Hospice South West.

The event, open to adults and children aged five and over, will feature a range of activities led by experienced instructors.

A spokesperson said: “Event highlights include scaling the high ropes and attempting the leap of faith, finding the hidden pathway in the caving experience, or reaching the top of the climbing wall. Other activities include laser tag, archery and bushcraft, as well as paint spinning and a silent disco.

“Admission is free and activities start at just £1 per person. There will be hot and cold food available all day, as well as the chance to win some great raffle prizes.

“The team of qualified instructors will ensure that all activities are conducted safely and with the utmost care for the environment.

“There is no need to book, just come along and give it all a go. To find out more, visit porthpean.com or check out the Facebook page, porthpeanoec.”
