Local members of the Oddfellows Friendly Society have hosted a very successful coffee morning at their premises in Green Lane, Redruth over the weekend.
A rainy morning did not deter members and guests who crowded in to Oddfellows Hall to enjoy an hour and a half of coffee, tea and drinking chocolate together with a spread of treats including home baked cakes and all at no cost to members or guests.
Everyone agreed that the morning had been a very pleasant occasion and a valuable addition to the programme of events and activities made available to members across the Plymouth and Truro District. A further such open coffee morning allowing non-members and those interested in joining the Oddfellows to share in the hospitality is scheduled to occur on Saturday, June 29 2024.
The morning ended with the book swap club and a round of applause for Tina English who had baked some the cakes and who said, “It has been a most enjoyable occasion, open to passers-by as well as members and is one of many social activities organised by Oddfellows throughout the year. My thanks to Mandy for her assistance in making this coffee morning the success that it has been and to all those who have come along.”
Meeting for a variety of activities in Redruth, Truro, Plymouth and other locations and with all the benefits of a well-established friendly society, the Oddfellows always welcomes new members of all ages and genders.
