NEWQUAY Tretherras Sixth Form students have been celebrating their A Level results.
The class of 2024 opened their exam results envelopes in the NT6 Common Room to discover the future that awaits them, surrounded by their families, teachers and friends on Thursday, August 15.
Newquay Tretherras’ Sixth Form continued its strong tradition of achieving the highest possible KS5 vocational grades, with students successfully gaining places on their desired degree courses and apprenticeships.
Tretherras students that achieved top A-level grades included Nell Gray who has gained a place at the University of Oxford to study Chinese, Bluebell Frazer who will be studying Chemistry at Bath University and Harry Slade who has accepted a place at Bristol University to study Biological Sciences.
Jasmine Gordon who will be studying History at Exeter, Rhys Bowery who has secured a place at Falmouth University to study Computer Science, Cameron Jackson who will be studying Economics and Econometrics at Bristol University and Ella Stanyer who will be studying Physics at Exeter University.
Students have also had strong success in vocational subjects, with the following students all gaining the top grades in their respective Extended Diplomas. In Applied Science, Christopher Bodsworth, Zoe Sullivan and Connie Mcloughlin achieved the top grades with Zoe and Connie gaining places at Bournemouth and Surrey to study Paramedic Science and Bio Med respectively.
In sport and physical activity, Henry Troth, Kian Gray, Amelia Gardner, Oliver Fice Thomson, Noah Evans, Finley Edwards, Eve Bruce, Alicia Curnow all achieved top marks with Rose Flynn and Levi Hiscock also achieving top marks and gaining places at Bristol UWE and Plymouth Marjons to study Occupational Therapy and Sports Therapy respectively.
Headteacher of CELT Sixth, Andy Booth, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our students and their achievements.
“The resilience they have shown throughout their time in the sixth form is a testament to their character and resolve.
“They are all exceptional, inspiring, and talented young people and as a school we couldn’t be prouder of them.
“All our Newquay Tretherras teachers, support staff and governors, and our CELT trust leaders, are rightly proud of the incredible results this cohort of students has achieved after the seven years we have been lucky enough to have them in our care.
“On behalf of Tretherras staff, I would like to congratulate our students on their achievements and thank them for being fantastic role models and ambassadors for young people in Newquay and beyond.
“The Class of 2024 have made an incredible contribution to the life of our school and to our community and they now have an amazing set of exam results which will open doors to their fantastic futures. We wish them every success and happiness for the next step in their educational journey.
“I would like to thank our families for their support over the last seven years. I hope that they share in the celebrations and are as proud as we are that this impressive group of young people have achieved their goals and are now able to focus on their individual strengths and talents as they leave their Tretherras family and move into adulthood.”
