THE street market due to be held in Newquay town centre on Saturday (October 5) has been cancelled due to the predicted high winds.

Newquay BID states the gusts will exceed the safe limit for the outside event to be held.

Newquay Women’s Institute in Crantock Street will be staging a craft fair between 10am and 2pm.

A spokesperson said: “The gust wind speeds forecast for Saturday exceed the safe limit for the street market to go ahead, so with a heavy heart we are unable to go ahead with the outside market.

“Project 83 are hosting a mini-market from 10am to 2pm and Newquay's awesome resident businesses will still be ready to welcome you out of the wind.”
