NEWQUAY skatepark’s new extension was officially launched with a skatejam on Tuesday.
Competitions for skateboard, BMX and scooter enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels were held at the new beginner’s section at Concrete Waves.
Riders showed off their repertoire of tricks, which included various airs, grinds and boardslides.
Prizes were given out throughout the event and there were also professional rider demonstrations.

Maverick Skateparks, which built Concrete Waves and the new extension, staged the event with the support of the Boardmasters Foundation and Newquay Town Council.
