Newquay skatepark’s £120,000 expansion is taking shape.
Concrete Waves is being enhanced with a new area specifically designed for beginners of all ages to learn, develop, and hone their skills before venturing into the more challenging aspects of the park.
The scheme also includes an acoustic wall to reduce noise for residents living nearby.
The Boardmasters Foundation and Cornwall Council's Community Infrastructure Levy have provided £50,000 apiece for the project and any outstanding balance needed will come directly from town council funds.
A town council spokesperson said: “The new beginners’ area is starting to take shape.
“We're hoping to have everything ready by Spring.”
