NEWQUAY’S community garden has organised various entertainment for the summer season as part of its mission to offer cultural events.
Newquay Orchard will be staging everything from cabaret shows to a popular sea shanty band.
Scary Little Girls will present The Riot Showgrrrls Club on Sunday, May 26 at 7.30pm.
The Old Time Sailors is staging a night of footstomping, dancing and singing on Thursday, May 30, at 7.30pm.
A spokesperson said: “You will be sailing back to the 19th century for an immersive experience of traditional seafaring music performed in a way you have never seen before. Fancy dress is encouraged.”
Miracle Theatre will be presenting Love Riot, a fresh new take on an 18th century rom com, on Saturday, June 8, at 7.30pm.
The Newquay Orchard Fayre will be held on Saturday, June 15, between 10am and 3pm.
There will be entertainment throughout the day, as well as market and charity stalls and food vendors.
A spokesperson said: “The Fayre returns as a celebration of the Orchard as a community space and the people who have helped to create it over the past nine years.
“The Orchard Fayre has always been about bringing together the Newquay Community and showcasing a variety of the best of local arts, entertainment and tasty treats.
“The Fayre has a focus on fun and entertainment, with free workshops and activities from a plethora of organisations and games aplenty.”
Immersion Theatre will be presenting Peter Pan on Saturday, June 23, at 2.30pm.
Really Lovely Projects will be presenting Sing Along Cornwall, which will be a celebration of Cornwall’s community choirs and brass bands outdoors at Newquay Orchard on Saturday, July 6, at 3pm.
The Plandits will be staging The Secret Garden on Friday, August 16, at 5pm, which is a brand new re-imagining of the classic Frances Hodgson Burnett book.
Quantum Theatre will be presenting Tales of Jemima Puddleduck on Friday, August 23, at 5pm, a new adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s much-loved tale.
Nina Hills will be staging Peri-meno what now? 2.0 on Saturday, July 13, at 7.30pm.
