A Newquay man has been jailed for three years for attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

Frankie O'Shea, aged 37, of Trebarber, pleaded guilty at Truro Crown Court to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a person purporting to be a 12-year-old girl at Newquay for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification. 

The child was actually an undercover police officer.

He engaged in conversations on KIK and WhatsApp with images and videos of a sexual nature including pictures and videos of his genitals the court heard.
