NEWQUAY Lifeboat Station is gearing up to stage its biggest fundraiser of the year.
Newquay RNLI Lifeboat Day will be held on Saturday, August 17, at 10am.
Various activities will be organised throughout the day including Big F-T's Shack Rock Pooling Adventures will be staging a Rock Pool Ramble on the beach at 10am. It is free to join although donations are welcome.
The parade begins at the bottom of Marcus Hill, led by Kernow Pipes and Drums, the mayor and Newquay Town Crier at 10.30am.
The parade will arrive at Newquay harbour for the official opening of Newquay RNLI Lifeboat Day at 11am, which will see Newquay inshore lifeboats, Uncle Johnny and ‘Enid Mildred’ will be launched to greet the volunteer crew of the ‘Spirit of Padstow’ all weather lifeboat.
Other attractions include Stormy Stan, carousel, face painting, coastguard, fire brigade, police diving team, RNLI Water safety team, RNLI face to face team, model lifeboats , Rotary with smack the rat, Newquay Society of Artists, stalls, quiz, raffle, teddies tombola, lucky dip and open the box.
A spokesperson for Newquay Lifeboat Station said: “Newquay RNLI volunteer crew and fundraisers are looking forward to welcoming everyone to this year’s Lifeboat Day.”
