A Newquay fisherman has started to “reel in” a big following after broadcasting his lobster fishing trips to a live audience on social media.

Daniel Gilbert, who is known as The Cornish Fisherman, has netted more than 11,000 followers since he started live streaming his fishing voyages on Tik Tok.

People from around the world are tuning in to see what Daniel catches onboard his boat The Tizardlee-on and are keen to learn more about his work.

Audiences are interested in the sustainability of his lobster fishing as anything that is illegal to land is thrown back into the sea alive.

Daniel is known for giving the female lobsters carrying eggs a snack before they are carefully put back.

His live streams have become so popular fans have asked him to produce various merchandise and companies have offered him free clothing to wear.
