NEWQUAY Community Fire Station is gearing up to stage its annual open day to the public.

Live demonstrations, fun stalls, prizes and refreshments are being organised for the event, which will be held at its headquarters on Tregunnel Hill on Tuesday, August 27, at 10.30am.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet the fire crews, sit on the trucks and tuck into some firey hotdogs from the barbecue. Money raised throughout the day will be donated to The Firefighters Charity.

A fire station spokesperson said: “We are organising lots of fun activities.

“We have some great raffle prizes donated by local businesses, so a big thank you.”
