A Newquay company has been mixing it up with a renowned Michelin star chef after collaborating on a series of projects.
Idenna in School Close has been working with Jason Atherton, which has involved providing the brand design for five of his new international restaurants over the past year.
Sael, Three Darlings and Hot Dogs by Three Darlings are all London-based eateries, whilst the ‘Row on’ chain has restaurants both on Savile Row and in Dubai - with the Dubai location recently being awarded two Michelin Stars.
Sael’s recent launch party saw stars such as Sir Ian McKellen entering through the door under a logo designed by Idenna. The hotly anticipated Three Darlings will open to the public on October 23.
Idenna’s senior designer Kate Battersby said: “It’s been a real treat to work with Jason and his team over the last 12 months, each new project has represented its own creative challenge and I’ve really enjoyed developing the very different styles of each brand.”
Sael is a brasserie driven by a passion for traditional British produce, seasonality and provenance. Atherton’s team has been working with the same fishermen, farmers and growers for the last decade and the menu is in constant motion to reflect the best ingredients available.
This relationship with nature is reflected in Idenna’s design work, with seasonal variations of the logo created for use at the corresponding time of year.
The designs for Three Darlings are inspired by the Atherton family themselves, with illustrations of Jason's three daughters representing the main characters, which expanded to include the family dogs for the Hot Dog offshoot business.
Finally, Row on 45, so called as it inhabits the 45th floor of a Dubai skyscraper - and its soon-to-open partner site Row on 5 in London received a mature brand identity that works across both cultures.
Idenna’s creative director James Neale said: “This collection of work represents a huge win for our graphic design department.
“Seeing a name such as Jason Atherton choose to work with an independent Cornish agency and bypass the London scene for these projects is evidence of Idenna’s creative talent, and a testament to Kate’s world class design work.”
Dominique Arthur, the marketing manager of The Social Company by Jason Atherton, said of Idenna’s work: “The communication and ability to be creative from a brief is outstanding, the team is extremely talented and a pleasure to work with.”
