A Newquay dance school has made a special £3,000 presentation of money raised at its show.
Pamela Darlington School of Dance in Trevenson Road has given £1,000 apiece to Cornwall Air Ambulance, Children’s Hospice South West and The Good Life Orphanage in Mombasa, Kenya following its Showtime ‘22 performance at The Keay Theatre in St Austell two years ago.
Pamela Darlington, principal of the school and Madeline Old, who was celebrating her ninth birthday, presented the cheques to the chosen charities at The Headland Hotel. Showtime ‘24 will be presented by dancers from Pamela Darlington School of Dance at The Keay Theatre on Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19 at 6.30pm as well as a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
This year’s chosen charities are Cornwall Air Ambulance and Children’s Hospice South West.
Pamela said: “Over 100 dancers have been working hard and they enjoyed the hospitality at The Headland Hotel for their photo shoot.
“It’s now an exciting and hard-working couple of weeks putting all the finishing touches to their dance routines, including Disney, The Greatest Showman, Paquita, Chicago and Tchaikovsky.
“All genre of dance will be covered including ballet, tap, musical theatre, acro, contemporary and jazz. Tickets are available from Engine House tickets.”
