A Newquay choir will be performing a concert closer to home after a busy time on its travels.
Newquay Male Voice Choir, which has been performing in South Wales will be taking to the stage at St Michael’s Church on Friday, May 31, at 7pm. The concert, which will also feature Oll an Gwella and Newquay Town Band will be raising funds to support a flower festival that Rose Knowlson is organising next year in aid of Church funds. Admission will be £5 on the door and there will be a raffle and a retiring collection.
Co-chairman Jim Christophers said: “Newquay Male Voice Choir is rounding off a busy, exciting and thoroughly enjoyable May with a concert in St Michael’s Church.
“After a magnificent evening in St Michael’s when they were joined by choirs from across the UK and from as far away as Innsbruck in Austria and a very successful weekend away in South Wales, the choir are looking forward to something that will bring them much closer to home.”
Newquay Male Voice Choir continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary and it is highly likely that at the concert there will be a first outing for a piece of music, Music on the Water, that has been especially composed for the choir by Nick Hart.
