A dedicated member of a Newquay charity has been commended for his long service.

Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club member Danny Baize was surprised to be presented with the Melvin Jones Fellow award at its 16th Charter Anniversary celebrations staged at The Pentire Hotel.

Lion President Heather Stanley and second vice district governor Phil Bunt presented the award to Danny for the part he has played in the club over many years. 

The former club president is the longest serving Lion in Towan Blystra, but as he has former Lions service, takes his total time in the organisation to more than 20 years.
