A Newquay academy will be taking people back to 1920’s Chicago with its latest production.
Newquay Tretherras is presenting Chicago Teen Edition between Monday, October 14, and Friday at 7pm.
The production is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins.
Director Cate Halford said: “We began our production journey last January where I made the decision to grab my flapper dress and head to Chicago.
“What a journey it has been. We started with our auditions in Easter and have had just over hundred hours of rehearsals to be ready to welcome people to Newquay Tretherras' latest production.
“Our cast have been amazing, learning all their lines, songs, moves and a joy to work with.
“We will be taking the audiences to 1920's Chicago where a good way to get famous is to commit a crime to gain notoriety. Where a silver-tongued lawyer will help you get away with murder. To a whoopie spot, where the gin is cold and the piano hot. It's just a noisy hall where there's a nightly brawl and all that jazz.
”Be whirled away by sequins, feather fans, rhinestone buckles and the flash of cameras.”
