THE Rev Jonathan Huff has been licensed as the new vicar of the St Austell Parish.
Jonathan has moved to St Austell from London, where he recently completed his curacy at Holy Trinity, South Woodford. He is married to Lydie with whom he has two little boys, Josiah (two years old) and Judah (10 months).
Jonathan said: “We were very excited to sense God’s call to Cornwall, since it is already a place of deep significance in our immediate family history. Lydie studied at the University of Exeter in Falmouth and, more recently, we celebrated our marriage on a beach on the north coast due to the restrictions imposed during the covid lockdowns.
“I hope that in the coming years, the church will be a place of hope, love and welcome for the people of St Austell and beyond. At the heart of the Christian message is God’s own love and welcome for all who want to come to him - and the promise that this is possible to receive through faith in Jesus.
“I have a passion to see the people of the church grow to know God more and more deeply, to be confident in his love, and to overflow with that love to the world.”
