A new initiative is being launched dedicated to help Newquay become a greener place to live, work and visit.
Newquay Town Council is forming Climate Action Newquay, a new volunteer local steering group focused on climate action.
The authority is calling on residents, business owners, and environmental enthusiasts to join the initiative, which will aim to play a crucial role in shaping and implementing initiatives designed to reduce the town’s carbon footprint, enhance community resilience, and foster “a greener, more sustainable future for all.”

A town council spokesperson said: “Are you passionate about making a difference in your community and protecting our planet?
“Do you want to be at the forefront of local climate action, driving change and creating sustainable solutions? This is your chance to lead the way.
“Newquay Town Council is thrilled to announce the launch of Climate Action Newquay.
This is your opportunity to contribute your ideas, energy, and skills to create meaningful change in our community.
“Collaborate with like-minded Individuals. Work alongside passionate and driven people who share your commitment to sustainability and climate action.
“Be part of the solution. Help guide the development of strategies and programs that address climate change—from promoting renewable energy to reducing waste and improving local green spaces.
“We are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated individuals who have a strong knowledge of and experience with environmental issues and climate action.

Anyone interested in joining Climate Action Newquay can express their interest by filling out the form at www.newquay.gov.uk/climate by Monday, September 30. The town council will then send an application to complete.
