A NEW course is being offered in Newquay to support people who are going through a bereavement.
Newquay Methodist Church is staging The Bereavement Journey at the Hub in Nansledan, which start on Tuesday, April 30, between 7pm and 9pm and on Thursday, May 2, from 10am to noon.
Topics include attachment, separation and loss, the pain and responses of grief, anger and guilt, coping with others’ reactions as well as delayed and suppressed guilt.
Other areas that are discussed are adjusting to change, moving forward healthily and faith questions, which is optional.
Alyce Finney, the project development officer, said: “We held our first course which started in March and finishes next week and due to the popular demand, we are delivering two further courses.
“The courses last seven weeks and are being delivered by Newquay Methodist Church.
“They are not faith-based courses and are open to anyone of any faith.
“We have had great feedback from the current attendees to date that the structured courses have massively helped support them in their bereavement journey.
“The course is free; however, donations are welcome to help cover overheads and course materials. Everyone is welcome.”
