NEWQUAY’S mayor says he is “sickened” after a drug needle was found in a baby changing facility.
It is thought the needle was “strategically” placed at a baby changing facility in Newquay to cause harm.
A member of the Newquay Town Council facilities discovered the needle lodged into the hinge of the baby changing table in the public toilets at Newquay Harbour.
Mayor Cllr Drew Creek said: “I was disgusted and appalled when one of our facilities team attended the Harbour toilets to find that a needle had seemingly been strategically placed in the hinge of the baby changing facilities to cause harm.
“This is abhorrent, and I am sickened and disgusted that anyone would consider attempting to cause harm to a baby in this way. As a father of a young child who use these units, I am horrified that this has happened in Newquay.”
