A man has sustained serious injuries after a crash involving a motorbike took place on the A30 near Penzance in the early hours of this morning (Friday, January 31).
Emergency services were called out to a serious collision at around 2.35am on Eastern Green Road.
At the time of writing (9am), the road in both directions remains closed. The police expect the closure to stay in place for several hours while an investigation continues.
Motorists, who are urged to leave extra time for their journeys if travelling near the area, are being diverted around the closure via Jelbert Way.
A spokesperson for the Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on the A30 at Eastern Green, Penzance, involving a motorbike, after receiving a call at around 2.35am.
“One person has sustained serious injuries. Local road closures have been put in place and are likely to remain so for some time. The incident is ongoing.
