A man has died and two men have been arrested following a road traffic collision in Newlyn in the early hours of Saturday.
Officers were called to reports that a Honda Civic had been involved in a collision at Stable Hobba at around 12.35am
The vehicle was unattended when they arrived and one person was thought to have left the scene.
Police then received a report of concern for welfare for a man in Alverton Road, Penzance at around 1am.
Police found a man in his 30s in cardiac arrest and despite efforts to revive him by officers and paramedics, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
A second vehicle, a grey BMW, has been recovered by police, and is believed to be linked to the collision.
Road closures were in place for a significant period of time while officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team, along with forensic collision investigators, examined the scenes.
Police would like to thank the public for their patience.
A 29-year-old man from Penzance was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving.
A 26-year-old man from Penzance was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through alcohol and on suspicion of possession of a class B drug.
Both remain in police custody.
