A MAN pulled from the sea at Crantock Beach on Wednesday morning (October 9) died at the scene.
Newquay RNLI lifeboat volunteers launched the Atlantic and D-Class lifeboats to the incident at about 8.40am.
Members from Newquay Coastguard Search and Rescue Team were also in attendance.
A RNLI crew managed to recover the man, who was in his sixties, from the water but despite the best efforts of emergency services he passed away. A dog was also recovered from the water and was taken to a vet for treatment.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were notified by HM Coastguard following reports of a man in the water at Crantock. He was recovered from the water.
“Sadly, despite the best of efforts of emergency services the man, who was in his 60s, died at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
