A MAN was allegedly stabbed after a fight broke out in Newquay town centre.

Two people were arrested following the incident, which reportedly took place at Central Square on Saturday, July 6, at 11.10pm.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment but was later discharged.”

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 causing grievous bodily harm with intent. A 22-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

They have both been released on police bail until October 3, a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed.
