THERE have been long delays on the A30 at Indian Queens following a car and trailer blaze this morning (Wednesday, August 14).

Appliances from St Dennis and Newquay attended the scene of the fire at Highgate Hill at 5.51am.

A spokesperson for St Dennis Community Fire Station said: “A30 Eastbound is closed for the moment whilst we deal with an incident

“Two firefighters in breathing apparatus are using two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Crews making good progress. Police in attendance.”

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service added: “Appliances from St Dennis & Newquay are in attendance at vehicle and trailer on fire on the A30 near Highgate Hill.

“Crews are using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. That is all the information we currently have.”
