A VAN reportedly hit Chacewater's lollipop man on Thursday morning while he was helping schoolchildren on the zebra crossing, breaking his crossing sign in two.
It was reported that the driver did not stop, carrying on towards Scorrier.
Cllr Dulcie Tudor said witnesses had come forward and CCTV footage taken at the time of the incident had been given to the police, showing a vehicle that fits the description of the van involved.
“Ritchie was shaken but not seriously hurt, and was back on duty the next day,” she said. “He was really touched by the outpouring of sympathy and the volume of messages received from well-wishers.
