Sarah Jane Corbridge has been awarded a BEM for services to the community in Helston.
Sarah is an active trustee at BF Adventure which is a charity that helps disadvantaged and disabled children gain skills to aid them in school or in finding employment. Her contribution was significant in helping to build an education and catering facility for the Longdowns based charity, where materials were payed for with donations.
The 56-year-old is the owner of Wearnes Jewellers with her husband Adam. Sarah is a fourth-generation jewellery designer for the family business which was established in 1890 and has shops in Helston and Falmouth. Away from business, she is also an actress who has appeared in Doc Martin and several episodes of Rosamunde Pilcher.
Sarah and husband Adam are also the owners of Lismore House. Located in the heart of Helston, the Grade II Listed property opens its gardens to the public on each Flora Day and has become the home of the festival’s celebrations.
Sarah, who is a member of Helston Lizard Inner Wheel, has supported numerous local charities and fundraising initiatives. Most recently, she helped organise a coffee morning at Lismore House which raised £821 for The League of Friends of Helston Community Hospital.
