Newquay Towan Blystra Lions have given a charity near St Columb Major a £350 boost.

Members of the club called at Chy Lowen Alpacas Tregaswith (CHAT) to present a large cheque. The charity provides a form of therapy to help young people who have special needs or mental health issues or are youth offenders.

Lion Colin Wellington said: “We were pleased to support Mary and Mike who run this facility on the outskirts of St Columb again this Christmas.

“They had told us of some of the equipment they needed to buy with this amount and the club agreed to help, as we did a year ago with another grant.”

The Lions review applications for grants from not-for-profit causes every three months and will be considering the next set of requests at their meeting in February.

Lion Lesley Baize said: “We are always keen to hear from any groups who may have something they need help in funding.”
