A person cut off by the tide at the bottom of cliffs near Porth Beach was rescued by Newquay lifeboat volunteers on Thursday afternoon.

Newquay Lifeboat Station’s D-Class lifeboat picked up the casualty before dropping them off at Porth Beach shortly before 12.30pm.

Newquay Search and Rescue Team along with HM Coastguard Padstow attended the incident.

A spokesperson for Newquay Coastguard said: “We were tasked to reports of a casualty cut off by the tide at the bottom of cliffs near Porth Beach.

“Once located, the casualty was picked up by Newquay lifeboat and dropped off with the team on Porth Beach for further assessment and onwards care, great teamwork with our RNLI colleague’s and flank team once again.”
