A Newquay lifeboat crew launched following a report that personal belongings had been seen in the water at South Fistral.

The charity's Atlantic 85 lifeboat attended the area to investigate on Friday, September 20 at about 9.15am.

The crew on arrival discovered a rucksack belonging to a local surf school that contained their first aid kit.

The school confirmed that it had accidentally been left on the beach the previous night.

Lifeboat volunteers returned to the station at 9.39am where shore crew volunteers made the boat ready for service.
