ST AUSTELL Brewery will be putting on Cornwall’s biggest charitable beer festival in its cellars on Saturday, November 30.

The annual Celtic Beer Festival will see beer lovers descend on the brewery from 11am as money is raised for the St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust.

Last year, people’s pint-drinking efforts raised thousands of pounds for the trust which supports charities and causes across the South West.

Since its launch in 2003, the trust has raised more than £1,000,000 and last year it donated over £80,000 to causes.

Brewing director Georgina Young said: “The Celtic Beer Festival is one of the highlights in our calendar where we all get together to celebrate ever wonderful style of beer out there.

“It’s all for a great cause, with the money raised from the festival going back to brilliant causes across the South West, such as youth mental health services, the air ambulance and local families in need of equipment or support.”

The festival will see live music throughout the day, along with a beer list showcasing more than 100 tipples.

The music will kick off from midday, starting with Banjovial, with acts including Kernoasis, Tregony Teachers and Good Old Fashion Lover Boys also taking to the stage.
