Properties have been evacuated in St Dennis after the discovery of an unexploded mortar shell this morning.

Royal Navy bomb disposal experts have been called to the scene in Wellington Road.

Devon and Cornwall Police said they were called just after 8.50am after the suspected mortar shell was found during a house clearance.

A cordon is in place around the property and nearby properties have been evacuated.
